SLCR CERT is proud to help and support our communities, Deer Park, Ela Township, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, and Long Grove, and their emergency teams.
Check out a few samples of our work!
The CERT members that responded to the various Kildeer needs during the recent snow storm should be commended. The response was timely, their performance was outstanding and the time devoted was truly appreciated. The service they personally provided to a Kildeer resident who just lost her husband goes well beyond the call of duty. As I have stated before CERT is a resource that Kildeer needs, supports and cannot thank enough!
Due to fallen trees and branches obstructing Quentin Road, Kildeer Police requested 8 CERT members to clear the roadway to enable safe passage by emergency vehicles. The call-out duration was 5 hours. Click on the Daily Herald article for the full story.

Due to fallen power and utility lines, Long Grove Fire requested 8 CERT members to perform traffic control at 3 intersections on Route 22 (22 & 83, 22 & North Krueger, 22 and Old McHenry). The call-out was overnight (7:00pm to 7:00am) and enabled LGFPD to respond to other emergency calls.

I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to the CERT members who came out to the area of Boschome and Quentin Road in Kildeer for wires down. It is that selfless act of giving of their personal time that is appreciated. I would like to mention that because the CERT members came out and assisted in securing the roadway it allowed for a Lake Zurich engine to answer other 3 emergency calls.
Thank you, Lt. Benny Yee, Lake Zurich Fire Department
